Gryphons Moon communicates regularly on our discord server, and we invite you to email us at gryphonsmooncoven@gmail.com if you’re interested in getting to know us or attending our upcoming events. When we do meet in person for some rituals – as weather, timing, and health concerns allow – we also live stream on discord so that everyone has options. All dates and times are given for the eastern US time zone.

 

Discussion Group

Gryphon’s Moon hosts a Wiccan Discussion Group at the Magical Druid at 4:30pm on the first Saturday of every month. Recent topics have included occultism, magical tools, spell work, and meditation. The given topic for a day is just to get us started; conversation may move in lots of different ways, and the discussion group is flexible. We encourage people of all levels of experience to give it a try! This is one way to get to meet some members of Gryphon’s Moon.

Full Moons and Holidays

Each year, the coven selects an overall theme for full moon rituals. Previous themes have included the tarot, the elements, deities, animal spirits, and magical tools. This year our theme is plants and minerals.

Gryphon’s Moon Coven is committed to practicing informed consent regarding ritual. We typically hold a “pre-ritual briefing” to review the order of activities and make sure everyone feels comfortable participating in what’s to come.

We are also committed to accessibility. Participants are invited to sit, stand, sit out, and adapt activities to fit their needs. Self-care is especially encouraged during high-emotion rituals such as Samhain. If you have questions about accommodations, please check in with clergy ahead of time or during the pre-ritual briefing.

A typical ritual will include:

    • Grounding and centering
    • Calling the quarters, deities, and Gryphon
    • Singing and/or listening to music
    • Topical reflection/activity based on the theme
    • Releasing the quarters, deities, and Gryphon

Typical Schedule

    • 6:00-6:30 – Gathering and pre-ritual briefing
    • 6:30-7:00 – Ritual
    • 7:00-8:00 – Social time following in-person ritual
